Today was mostly spent driving, but we stumbled upon a real hidden gem along the way. Up north, near a big waterfall, we found a natural hot spring. After all that driving, we couldn’t resist jumping in. The warm water was the perfect way to relax.

While we were soaking, we started chatting with a friendly German couple. We ended up talking for a while, and by the end of it, we had new pen pals! It was a fun and unexpected connection.

Of course, we didn’t bring a change of clothes, so we had to walk back to the van in our swim trunks and hiking boots. Later, we stopped at a little beach where we found some sea glass and shells.

Eventually, we made it to our campsite and checked out a nearby lagoon. After all the driving, it was nice to unwind there. Our current campsite is a troll village near a huge waterfall, we can’t wait to explore more in the morning.

Tomorrow, we’ll hit the road again for another day of driving to reach the island with the beluga whale sanctuary we want to visit. We’re looking forward to that, but for now, today was a reminder that the best moments often come when you least expect them.
