Wedding Day!

Today was the day, the one we’ve been dreaming about for so long. We woke up early and started the morning with a quiet moment together over coffee and muffins at the little café by our campsite. The excitement was real, but so was the calm, it already felt perfect.

Before the ceremony, we met up with our amazing friend (and photographer!), Sam, to finalize the wedding location. With the wild beauty of Stokksnes all around us, it is hard to choose a bad spot. The dramatic mountains sweeping down into the black sand beach created a backdrop more stunning than we could have ever imagined.

We got ready outside of our van, shaving in the side view mirrors and laughing the whole time. There was something so special, and so us, about getting dressed in the fresh Icelandic air. Soon after, we met up with our immediate family and made our way down to the ceremony site.

Our dear friend Charissa, who also officiated, led a beautiful ceremony that touched all of our hearts. There were definitely tears (and not just from the cold wind). It was joyful, full of love, and exactly how we hoped it would be.

Afterward, we warmed back up in the café, letting the happiness of the moment sink in before heading out to take some magical wedding photos. The day ended with an incredible dinner at the local restaurant called Pakkhús, and a final celebratory drink at the nearby brewery. This was the perfect close to the perfect day.

We’re still soaking it all in, and we couldn’t be more excited to spend the next 10 days exploring Iceland together as newlyweds. ❤️
